Introduction
The Property Care Association (PCA) is the UK’s principal trade body for building-fabric repair. In late 2021 the PCA issued a cautionary notice regarding spray-foam installations. After a programme of laboratory tests and joint site inspections, the PCA released an updated statement in November 2023 confirming that, when installed by accredited professionals with proper moisture control and ventilation, closed-cell spray foam satisfies all recognised performance and safety criteria.
